E! network has named Kathy Griffin as the new host of Fashion Police, replacing the late Joan Rivers when the show returns in January for coverage of the Golden Globes.
The couture-criticizing comedy series, which had previously aired weekly, will now present 17 episodes throughout 2015, focusing on high-profile red carpet and fashion events, E! announced Monday, two months after MailOnline exclusively reported the story.
Griffin is an award-winning actress, comedian and author known for her biting comic style.

Kathy has previously appeared as a guest panellist on the show - making an appearance last summer and revealed to People earlier this month that she and Joan had even joked about her taking the job.
'Ironically, she and I talked about it many times,' Kathy said. 'She would joke that, no matter what, I should always get 10 percent less than she got.
'It’s definitely something that I've put a lot of thought into,' Kathy added. 'Obviously there is an emotional tie for me because Joan was such a good friend of mine, a close friend, truly a mentor – but also a legit friend.
'We talked about everything, and we joked about everything on the table, so it’s something that I've been thinking about for a while.'
